Why Yin Works Differently
Most movement practices work with muscle. Yin works with connective tissue: the fascia, ligaments, and joints that hold tension between your sessions and long after your workday ends.
Deep Tissue Release
When you hold a pose for three to seven minutes with your muscles released, fibroblasts in your fascia respond to the sustained pressure and begin remodeling. Tissue that has been braced for years starts to let go. Short, active stretches do not trigger this. Yin does.
Nervous System Regulation
The long holds and deliberate breathing activate your parasympathetic nervous system — the part of your biology responsible for rest, repair, and clear thinking. Heart rate drops. Cortisol drops. The part of your brain managing threat assessment quiets down.

Yin yoga and breathwork changed that. Not as a spiritual practice. As a practical tool. I applied the same rigor I brought to infrastructure architecture to understanding what was actually happening in my nervous system, and what it would take to change it.

Yes. More than you would expect.
Yin yoga requires stillness, not a studio. You need a mat, a quiet space, and enough room to extend your arms.
For breathwork, the quality of your experience depends on the quality of the facilitation, not on whether we are in the same room. Many clients find the privacy of their own space makes the work deeper, not shallower.
What does not translate online is the incidental stuff: the Boquete mountains, the coffee after class, the walk back through town. If you want that, come in person. If you want the practice, online delivers it.
